About Me

Born in Turkey and raised in a small Midwestern town, I have always felt like an outcast. Being the only foreigner in my classes growing up afforded me a unique perspective and a significantly different experience than most. Growing up in a household where Turkish was the primary language and culture was vastly different from what I encountered at school ensured that I was always aware of my distinctiveness. I believe that my bilingual upbringing is what made me so creative and enhanced my problem-solving skills.

As with any immigrant, I have a deep sense of resilience and adaptability. Despite moving to the U.S. without speaking a single word of English with parents who had no formal education, I thrived academically. I was placed in advanced and honors classrooms from as early as 2nd grade, consistently challenged myself with AP classes, graduated high school early, and completed my bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity mid-year. My journey embodies the essence of the American dream, showcasing how determination and hard work can lead to success against the odds.
